As 2024 gets underway, Samsung has unveiled three new top-of-the-range handsets: Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra. They are all already available for pre-order at Orange Luxembourg. These new models aim to appeal to a wide audience, but what's the difference between them, and which one to choose?

The software

This year's Galaxy Unpacked introduced Galaxy AI, a feature that promises to transform users' everyday experience. This artificial intelligence integrated into the three Galaxy S24 Series models enables instant translation of calls and messages in 13 different languages. What's more, it simplifies the reading of web pages and articles by summarising them in a relevant way. Collaboration with Google has also led to the development of a feature that enables on-screen image searches.

The design

Style and materials

For these Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra, design is a major distinguishing feature. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, stands out for its imposing size, more pronounced angles, and the use of titanium for the phone's strength. It's also the only phone to come with the S Pen. Galaxy S24 and S24+, meanwhile, have more rounded corners and thinner edges, remaining loyal to the design of previous generations.

Resistance

All models are IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, and feature Gorilla Glass Armor protection. What's more, they are sustainably designed using recycled materials, promising seven years of software and security updates.

Screen

All three models feature an OLED LTPO screen with a refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 2600 nits. Screen resolution varies, however, with Galaxy S24 offering Full HD+ resolution, while S24+ and S24 Ultra offer QHD+ resolution for a stunning visual experience.

Performance

Chip

Technically speaking, Galaxy S24 and S24+ are equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor. S24 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, offering even more power. The models also differ in terms of camera, battery life, storage capacity and 5G support.

Photos

Galaxy S24 Ultra widens the photo gap and stands out with its advanced cameras, comprising five sensors at the back, including a 200-megapixel main sensor and telephoto lenses capable of 3x and 5x optical zoom. It therefore offers greater possibilities than the other ones.

Battery life

When it comes to battery life and recharging, Galaxy S24 Ultra offers the best performance with a 5000 mAh battery, while S24 and S24+ models have slightly lower battery capacities. Fast charging also varies, with both S24 Ultra and S24+ supporting 45W fast charging, while S24 offers 25W fast charging.

Order yours

In conclusion, the choice between Galaxy S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra will depend on individual preferences. S24 Ultra stands out for its power, advanced camera and battery, while S24 and S24+ offer more affordable options with solid features.
