Orange launches #MirBleiwenZesummen operation to enable families in Luxembourg to continue seeing their loved ones via its commercials
Luxembourg, April 27th 2020
During lockdown, keeping in touch is essential. Our smartphones and computers have never been so useful. Every day they allow us to continue to see our loved ones, but not all of our elders, parents or grandparents have them.
Under house arrest and deprived of almost any contact for their safety, they are the first to be affected by the isolation imposed by the lockdown. That's why Orange decided to give families a place in its ads so that they could share a message with their elders, directly on television. Because if there is one thing that almost all of our parents and grandparents have in their living room, it is a TV set.
An original and supportive mechanism to provide a solution
Based on the fact that seniors spend an average of 7h 40 minutes a day in front of the television (according to a NIELSEN 2019 study), Orange has developed a platform that allows everyone, whether or not they are customers, to send a message to their parents, grandparents or friends during the commercials of their favourite programs on RTL TV Lëtzebuerg.
Via the mini site mir-bleiwen-zesummen.lu all Luxembourgers will be able to send a video message. All they have to do is indicate the name and surname of the person to whom the message is addressed and film themselves for a few seconds. The selected videos will appear in the advertisements. A message will be sent to these people so that they can inform their loved ones of the date and time of the TV broadcast.
Corinne Lozé, CEO - Orange Luxembourg
"The network has never been so essential and vital for everyone. It allows everyone to keep in touch with others, to get news, to give news and above all to keep in touch. Very often, our parents and grandparents do not have the tools or access to videoconferencing platforms. With this #MirBleiwenZesummen program, in collaboration with RTL TV Lëtzebuerg, we offer all Luxembourg families the possibility to stay connected and share messages with their elders."
The platform mir-bleiwen-zesummen.lu (#OnResteEnsemble) is open since last Friday and already allows to upload video messages of 5 to 10 seconds. The first messages will be broadcast from this evening, Monday 27 April.
The Orange signature "Bringing you closer to the essential" takes on its full meaning.
