When you work in the events industry, you come across some funny and unusual anecdotes. Julien Cliquet, a renowned caterer in Luxembourg, shares one of them with us in this new episode of the web series #DansLeTéléphoneDe.

In Julien Cliquet's phone

Hello, I am Julien Cliquet, caterer in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for eight years with a project that we started jointly with my wife. And we hope to keep it going for many years to come.

Tell us about your first phone.

Without hesitation, I'd go for the 3310 with the famous snake, which was pretty cool.

Now, are you more of an Android team or an Apple team?

Definitely Apple. All our teams work with Apple.

What's your favourite app?

Spotify. We spend much time on social media, and Spotify is great for winding down in the car and in the evening after a long day.

As a caterer, are social media a source of inspiration?

Definitely. My teams and I watch a lot of content. I think social media are very important, but we don't forget to go out and see what's going on, because these even if these media show a lot of things, live is always better.

An Instagram feed that makes your mouth water?

Ouch! Well, clearly there's a very well-known one. It's called Studio 27. I'm from Brussels and it's a group of young people who put on some magnificent staging weekends. It's often exceptional dinners and they're all about the detail, it's very square, magnificent to behold.

You organise a lot of events. Any funny anecdotes that you'll never forget?

So there's one: we're not proud, but it went well. We opened the lorry and it turned out to be empty. Luckily our logistics teams reacted. In fact, the driver had taken the wrong lorry.

You offer vegan alternatives on your menus. Do you have any tips to share on how to veganise a dish?

Veganising is all very well, but you mustn't forget that vegan food is always good food. So if you like cooking at home, there's a very good supplier: Thym & Citron at La Gare et Belair. It's a real greengrocer and you can't go wrong. A good tomato in July is always appreciated with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. It works very well.

Finally, tell us your 3 favourite places to eat in the Grand Duchy.

Well, there's clearly one that stands out at the moment with Maurice and Stéphanie. They're a beautiful duo. Great. And secondly, Guillou. I think it's the only restaurant in Luxembourg where you feel right at home. So, well done to the team. And thirdly, I'd say Salwa, Salwa, with the Grand Café. We're all family here. It's always nice to have a good burger on a Sunday. It always goes down well.

I'd also like to thank Orange for sharing this lovely interview with us, because for us young entrepreneurs, it's always good to be in the spotlight and we really wanted to thank you for your confidence.
