Dribble d'Or 2022: Luxembourg's football and E-Sport award winners

This Monday, May 23rd, the Dribble d'Or 2022 ceremony took place, honouring the great names of Luxembourgish football. Marking the end of the BGL League and Promotion d'Honneur season, the event organized by Mental in partnership with Orange Luxembourg, rewarded many actors of the Grand Duche's football world. New this year, an e-sport prize was given to the winners of the Team Edition of the second season of the Orange E-League.
Monday evening, the atmosphere was warm at the Brauerei - Big Beer Company in Luxembourg. A lot of enthusiasm for this annual meeting and the announcement of the different winners of the season. On the program, many individual awards such as the best players, goalkeepers, coaches...
The big winners of the Dribble d'Or
In the BGL League, Dejvid Sinani, player of F91 Dudelange, won the award for best player of the season after helping his team to be crowned Luxembourg champions. Dominik Stolz from Hesperange is second, while Kevin Van den Kerkhof is third.
The award of best player of the Promotion d'Honneur was given to Fine Bop, striker of the club Jeunesse Canach.
In the women's category, Amy Thompson of FC Mamer 32 was crowned best player thanks to her performances this season. She is ahead of Karoline Kohr and Joana Lourenco.
Carlos Fangueiro was elected best coach of the year and succeeds Sebastien Grandjean. The Belgian coach finishes second, followed by Christian Lutz of UNA Strassen. Adrien Daniele of Entente WMG won the prize of best coach of Ligue 1 Women.
On the e-sport side, the two players of U.N Kaerjeng, Kevin Vieira and Diogo Santos, were awarded the prize after having brilliantly won this second season of the Orange E-League Team Edition after eight weeks of fierce competition.
A first for E-Sport
Kevin Vieira and Diogo Santos, the two winners of this Team Edition (here with Barbara Fangille from Orange and Gilles Faber from the Luxembourgish Football Federation), will participate in the final of the individual tournament this Thursday, May 26th. They will challenge other players to try to be crowned as individuals this time. The event is open to the public and it will take place at 2pm at the Loft in Contern. The Grand Final will kick off at 6pm. Don't hesitate to come and to support the players.
